We actually install and test every piece of gear before we report on it at Marine Electronics Reviews.

We test everything electronic or electrical you might find or use on a recreational or small commercial boat.

After you have picked the right piece of gear use our knowledgeable installation tips to get it installed on your boat the right way.

What We Test

So far we've tested and posted reviews on everything from small boat autopilots to fixed mount VHF radio to handheld VHF radio to marine chartplotters to image stabilized binoculars to electric bilge pumps. As we continue to test products in these groups we'll keep posting the results.

If we haven't tested the gear, we won't report on it.

Future Testing and Tips

Our posted chartplotter reviews currently cover a wide range of units from standalones capable of providing basic GPS navigation and mapping to units that combine navigation with an internal fishfinder.

We have also reported on large screen multi-function displays that network data with a variety of other sources like black box sounders, radar, satellite receivers, and AIS units.

In the future as we add more reviews we plan to divide our chartplotter reviews in several different sections so you can more easily find what you need.

We'll also be filling things in with more radio reviews. Upcoming page additions will add a variety of installation tips too.

All the gear we report on here at Marine Electronics Reviews was tested in the Florida Keys aboard one of our three test boats or reviewed ashore by our seasoned testers.
