West Marine Tahiti
Our Marine Binocular Review

The West Marine Tahiti 7x50 marine binocular has a sleek modern appearance and is shielded from the elements with a layer of blue and black plastic armor coating.

Tahiti features center focus with a single adjustable diopter on the right eyepiece. Testers noted the center focusing mechanism worked smoothly and easily throughout its entire focusing range.

The Tahiti was rated excellent rating for day/night viewability. It provided a clean, sharp image for our testers in a variety of lighting and sea conditions.

We found the field of view loss for users wearing eyeglasses to be minimal. However, the compass can be more difficult to read when wearing glasses depending on your eye position.

Tahiti front lens caps are hinged on the bottom of each lens tube in our preferred location. This makes them very easy to open and close and keeps them out of the way when using with the binoculars.

The provided case only offers a minimal amount of protection. The neck strap was adequate and was fitted with a small neck pad but featured added no floatation.

Excellent overall performance and handling, a lifetime warranty, and rugged construction earned this West Marine binocular our praise.

This binocular is our first choice for any mariner looking to spend less than $300.
